About Us: Winding Waters Clinic is a 100-person Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered primary care in an integrated setting. We are looking for a highly-skilled, motivated, and committed Medical Director to lead our team of licensed and credentialed medical providers.
Position Summary: The Medical Director will oversee medical providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and medical learners while also providing direct patient care for at least 80% of weekly hours. This role requires strong leadership skills, solid organizational capabilities, and a passion for collaborative, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
Provide leadership and supervision for all medical providers.
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered primary care.
Collaborate with Executive Team members to inform organizational decision-making.
Patient Care:
Maintain a personal patient panel, serving patients for at least 80% of weekly hours.
Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines.
Ensure systems, structures, and equipment support high-quality care.
Administrative Duties:
Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of medical providers.
Participate in budget planning and resource management.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate clinical performance.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Community Engagement:
Represent Winding Waters in community and professional meetings.
Collaborate with the local mental health and hospital partners.
Education and Training:
Provide ongoing education and training for medical providers.
Mentor and support professional growth.
Qualifications:
Medical Doctorate (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Minimum of five years of clinical experience, with at least two years in a leadership role.
Active and unrestricted license to practice as a primary care provider in Oregon.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in an FQHC or similar setting is preferred.
Commitment to serving underserved populations in a rural healthcare setting.
