Our Client, Siskiyou Community Health Center, based in Grants Pass, Oregon, has retained the services of Community Link Consulting to manage the recruitment of a Chief Financial Officer to join their team.

Siskiyou Community Health Center is a non-profit, premier health center in southern Oregon with two locations, one in Grants Pass and the other in Cave Junction. Our leadership supports a group of outstanding providers dedicated to the Primary Care Home concept.  Siskiyou Community Health Center operates two medical facilities with dental clinics, walk-in clinics, and pharmacies at each, five school-based health centers and a Mobile Dental Clinic (CareVan).

Are you a visionary financial leader ready to make a meaningful impact in community health? Siskiyou Community Health Center is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and help shape the future of our organization.

As CFO, you’ll be the strategic force behind our financial health—guiding long-term planning, ensuring regulatory excellence, and driving innovation across all fiscal operations. From budgeting and reporting to grants and compliance, your leadership will empower transparency, integrity, and sustainable growth.

Ability to Relocate to: Grants Pass, OR (Relocation is required prior to start date.)

Work Location: This position requires in-person attendance; remote work is not an option.

Travel: Travel between sites required, with some out-of-area travel

Salary Range: $160,00 – $200,000

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning

o   Collaborate with executive leadership to craft and execute the organization’s strategic and financial vision.

o   Prepare the annual organization-wide budget, departmental budgets, and long-term financial projections.

Champion responsible, forward-thinking spending practices.
o   Manage and oversee an annual operating budget of $30+ million.

o   Supervises the analysis of costs, reviews billing and collection patterns, and provides corrective and strategic recommendations.

 

·         Financial Reporting & Analysis

o   Analyzes, prepares, and presents monthly financial reports and KPIs to senior management and the Board of Directors.

o   Reviews departmental financial performance with managers, offering financial insights and recommendations.

o   Performs internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and operational efficiency.

o   Maintains confidentiality and safeguards sensitive financial and organizational information.

 

·         Compliance, Controls & Policy Development

Develop and enforce financial policies aligned with GAAP, HRSA, and regulatory standards
Ensure compliance with grant funding, third-party payers, and cost reimbursements
Guide audit and tax processes in collaboration with external auditors
o   Oversees training of fiscal and billing staff in accordance with HRSA and applicable regulations.

o   Leads efforts to ensure compliance with loan covenants and investment policies.

 

·         Cash, Investment & Risk Management

o   Oversees all cash management functions and ensures the safety, liquidity, and yield of funds in accordance with investment policies.

o   Maximizes returns on idle cash while preserving capital.

o   Maintains productive banking relationships and seeks financing as needed.

o   Manages general insurance coverage with leadership, including liability and malpractice insurance

 

·         Revenue Optimization & Grants Management

o   Identify new revenue streams and cost-saving opportunities

o   Lead grant budgeting, compliance, and reporting efforts

o   Provides oversight on third-party payer rules and reimbursement procedures.

o   Stay current through professional development and industry affiliations

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of GAAP and financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and
coordinated all aspect involved with fiscal requirements of SCHC.
Knowledge of clinic financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze
financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.
Ability to understand clinic’s strategic business objectives.
Knowledge of governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting
requirements.
Knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheet, and financial system programs and applications.
Skill in identifying and resolving accounting and financial problems.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
MBA or Masters in Finance/Accounting preferred.
Licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) highly preferred.
10 years of fiscal management experience required.
3 years in a health care organization is preferred.
Experience in non-profits and a grant environment is preferred.
Experience managing budgets of 30+ million dollars preferred.
Proof of current unrestricted Oregon driver’s license, comprehensive automobile insurance, and a safe driving record.
