YOUR ROLE at NWHS:
As an Accountant at NWHS, you will perform day-to-day accounting duties related to the general ledger, month-end activities, audit preparation, and financial reporting for our Federally Qualified Health Center. This position reports to the CFO, and provides accounting support, including backup general accounting duties and responsibilities to the Accounting Lead and our Finance Department.
1) Special accounting procedures, including:
*340B prescription medication program monitoring and accounting.
*New Markets Tax Credit monthly draws, reports, monitoring liens, as well as preparing accruals, reconciling bank statements, preparing month-end financial reports for the related subsidiary organization.
*Preparing, annual Finance Tables and monitoring monthly Uniform Data System (UDS)
*Preparing annual Medicare Cost Report and Indirect Cost Report.
*Preparation of annual budgets
2) General accounting procedures (as a backup), including:
*General Ledger preparation, month-end reporting and payroll reconciliations.
*Bachelor’s degree in accounting; OR
*Other bachelor’s degree and 30 hours of accounting course work; OR
*At least 5 years of successful work experience in accounting in lieu of accounting coursework requirement.
*Experience with federal grants expenditure compliance in a healthcare or non-profit setting is preferred.
*Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
*Experience in preparing journal entries and financial reports.
*Experience in using computerized accounting software and electronic spreadsheets.
*Ability to develop working relationships with other staff and manager.
*Valid Oregon Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance.
