SUMMARY

Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing comprehensive primary care services to the most vulnerable patients in our communities. We seek a Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead our behavioral health integration within our primary care clinics1. Our Director of Behavioral Health is also an important leader and partner to our community mental health partners providing specialty care.

Essential Job Duties

Oversight and continued improvement of the Primary Care Behavioral Health model (PCBH) in our primary care clinics, in partnership with other medical and operational leadership at NHC.
Oversight of all clinical duties of all Behavioral Health clinicians and staff at NHC, ensuring adherence to current clinical practice standards.
Supervision and oversight of all aspects of clinical operations of Behavioral Health in alignment with NHCs strategic plan and in partnership with medical and operational leaders at NHC.
Collaboration with other NHC Directors and Executives to ensure strong, team-based care services and fully integrated inter professional primary care.
Leadership and management of staff through recruitment, retention, mentoring, coaching, and supervision to meet NHCs operational and clinical goals and objectives.
Ensuring full compliance and reporting of Behavioral Health clinical activities and outcomes with our payors, including CareOregon.
Assurance of timely, professional, and accurate completion of all clinical reporting requirements.
Monitoring of financial performance of the Behavioral Health Department at NHC.
Alongside NHCs executive leadership team, be an active contributor and leader of the long term strategy of Behavioral Health and partnership with community mental health in our organization.
Be clinically available to participate in patient care duties as a member of the Behavioral Health team at NHC for up to 20% of your time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Required:

Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) degree/PhD/EdD and licensure in the state of Oregon as a psychologist OR Licensed in Oregon as an independent clinical social worker or counselor.
Registered (or committed to registering) as a clinical supervisor with the Oregon State Board of licensed social workers or licensed professional counselors and therapists
4+ years in clinical practice in behavioral or mental health, preferably within a primary care practice setting. Experience with FQHCs or community health a plus.
2+ years in a leadership role supervising behavioral health/mental health staff members
2+ years of experience providing clinical supervision to relevant staff
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status or approved exception on file is required
Desired but not required:

Experience with Medication Assisted Therapy or Addiction Medicine
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills a plus

Intermediate or higher proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, sometimes with conflicting deadlines.
Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
Familiarity with video conferencing applications and software.
Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours occasionally as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Regularly sit while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls; repeat the same movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Frequently stand and walk around the office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office equipment, or collaborate with employees.
Occasionally stand, stoop and lift or move objects, equipment and supplies weighing approximately 20-25 pounds up to 40-50 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
